Che Go Korean BBQ Restaurant, Sunway Pyramid

The entrance was greeted with fliers, pamphlets and a man dressed in Korean traditional costume. As my sister and I walked in to Che Go, we could see the restaurant was traditionally furnished with short-legged wooden tables and squarish cushions for those who wish to dine in the Korean way. My sister and I opted to forego this luxury.

I like the ambience of the restaurant. Its theme colours are red and black with a slight touch of green, which brings a faint resemblance of Chinese restaurant. As both of us were starving, we quickly went through the menu and made a quick decision. Well, that's not exactly what we could usually achieve. We are a couple of indecisive lots ;p

The Hot Pot Kimchi Fried Rice seemed appealing to me while my sister decided to go for the Hot Pot Seafood Fried Rice.

While waiting for the food to be served, we camwhored. Not many shots. Just two and suppose this is the better one.

Here comes the food! Yum Yum....

Hotpot Kimchi Fried Rice. It is not as spicy as I anticipated. Not that I prefer it to be more spicy. Just right for me but not for chilly lovers, at least not by Malaysian standard ;) I would rate it 8 out of 10. The portion of the food is justified but if you have large appetite, you may want to order some ala carte.
I was looking into my sister's hot pot and found some really good stuffs in it. There were prawns, a huge scallop, and some squids.

Ooo..just look at the prawns. They are fresh and I could taste the natural sweetness of the succulent meat as I sank my teeth into it. Delicious. The squids were diced into cubes and I like the springy texture. They are not overly cooked nor under cooked. Splendid. I was rather satisified with the meal.

High School Musical Year 3

What makes a movie extraordinary and stand out among others? Kenny Ortega has the answer to this question. Coupled with catchy songs and sleekly choreographed dance moves, a movie is no longer a story telling affair. Kudos to Ortega for putting up yet another awesome musical movie.

High School Musical had been advertised on Disney Channel in Copenhagen since the day I set foot at the foreign land - about once every hour. It attracted my attention especially with the song "Right Here, Right Now" and some interesting dance moves. I decided to see it when I am back in Malaysia. Actually, I wanted to see Eagle Eye before flying off. Alas, time did not permit me to do so. My sister saw it with a friend and I wanted us to catch a movie together.

The story is simple but I enjoyed the movie very much. I have a tendency to like musical shows and High School Musical is my cup of tea. It is well packaged with comedy, romance, action (in terms of dance and oh, basket ball match) and great songs.

As I was led into the story by the characters, I could relate some of my experiences to the characters'. Good old school days are sweet and innocent. I miss the time when my friends and I would cherish every free period we had together.

I particularly like the scenes when Troy and Gabriella waltz in the balcony and the school garden. The scene which Troy and Chad danced to "The Boys Are Back" was awesome as well. I felt a sudden sparkle of desire to pick up dancing lessons right away. Yeah, I have been thinking of that since..mmmm, I can't recall when and yet, here I am, still not realising it. Blame it all on laziness ;p

Take my hand
Take a breath
Pull me close
And take one step
Keep your eyes
Locked on mine
And let the music be your guide........

Now, if you would excuse me, I would like to see the waltz scene again.

From Copenhagen to Sweden - 4th Oct 2008

It's the end of the first week in Copenhagen and we girls decided to be adventurous. After hearing stories about how we must visit Sweden, particularly Helsinborg, how could we resist the temptation. So, out set the three of us to Helsinborg. We took the train to Helsingor (Denmark) and from there, got a ferry to Helsinborg. I am impressed with the ferry. The usual ones we see only carry passengers but this is like a mini shopping mall in the ferry. It has duty free shops for chocolate lovers to indulge into chocolates and candies and there are quite a number of restaurants and cafes to dine from. We tried the much talked about sausage on our way back to Copenhagen.

After helping ourselves to the sausage we reached the Helsinborg train station. There were a group of men singing and cheering away. In fact, they did that since they were in the ferry. We could not understand what they were saying but it was certainly some sort of celebration they were having. Some looked a little drunk.

We stopped at a quaint coffee house to fill our stomachs before roaming the streets of Helsinborg. The waitresses were pretty and they were rather tanned for a Caucasian. My colleague speculated they spray-tanned themselves ;p No comments from my end as I have not a single clue to differentiate an authentic sun tan from a chemical-induced one.

Yummy, the food on display looked delicious, weren't they? I had a hard time deciding what to have. In the end, I ended up with a healthy sandwich with chicken ham and fresh greens. (Oo, the one on the first row, right most)

Satisfied, we walked out of the train station and we were greeted by this handsome building right before us.
On our left is the Helsinborg harbour. The wind was as chilly as Copenhagen's.

This is the castle we were looking for. Magnificient!

Ah, I have finally made my way up to the flight of stairs and posed to mark I was once here, with the little town behind me ;-)

A brief introduction on the Karnan castle in both Swedish and English was given to tourists.

Tadaa...this is the castle. It simply reminds me of castles illustrated in fairy tales. We didn't get to have a tour in the castle as it closes at 3pm on Sundays (We didn't know that until we were about to buy tickets)! We are only a few minutes late. What a waste.

Bird eye's view from the top

Street lined with shops and restaurants. It has a resemblance of Copenhagen's Walking Street, Strøget. Unlike Malaysian's shopping destinations, shops are closed at 4pm on weekends.

Nyhvan - The Old Port of Copenhagen

Nyhavn (guess how it's pronounced? Very different from how it's spelt. I had difficulty pronouncing almost all the names of the places in Copenhagen LOL) is a place one must go in Copenhagen. Apart from being the starting point of the renowned Canal Tour, it's a historic site of Copenhagen. Built by King Christian V in the 1670s, Nyhavn is the oldest harbour in Copenhagen and now, it's lined with many bars and restaurants which face the breath-taking scenery of the harbour.

There's a nice bar in Nyhavn and it's called Nyhvn 17. It's cozy inside and I like the candles which are placed on each table. They are extremely useful when it's cold.

Woohoo...my beer! Tuborg. Except that it's not alcoholic. Gotcha! ;-) Most people would give me a funny look when I tell them I don't drink and I didn't drink during my entire stay in Copenhagen though it's very common to have a glass of wine during meals. All right, I took a sip of Apple Cider and erm...I forgotten what was the other drink, from my colleagues' glass. Both were mild and they tasted quite good. Oooo...but not beers. Not even the non-alcoholic ones.

Amalienborg Palace

Amalienborg was the home of Danish royal family after Christianborg Palace was burnt down by fire. It's also the monarch's winter residence. Amalienborg Palace consists of four palaces and I was lucky to be able to witness the changing of the guards on Sunday morning. Christianborg Palace is opened to tourists but it's unfortunate no cameras are allowed to be carried into the royal palace. I also went to the ruins of the Christianborg Palace which lies beneath the palace. It's pretty interesting.

All right, enough said. Let the photos do the rest ;-)
Shots of the Amalienborg Palace(Total of four palaces. Each on different sides, which forms a square around you if you are standing amidst them)
The guards were marching and getting ready to perform the honourable ceremony : Changing of the guards.
The guard is very dutiful in guarding the palace. Though he allows you to take photos with him but be caution not to go too near. He'll tell you to keep a distance from him.

There are lots of such statues around Copenhagen and they are always in green. *Shrug*

Tivoli by Day & Night - Photos

As promised in my previous post, here are the photos. Didn't get to take much, though. Perhaps enough to lure you to visit this lovely garden! ;p

Tivoli is crowded with locals and tourists even before night falls. Pumpkins are everywhere!

Seems like pumpkins have reigned this place! And these are real pumpkins, mind you. So, you know where to get fresh pumpkins beside the market? LOL.

Whoa! Mr. Pumpkin is just beside me!! Trick or treat?

A symphony of pumpkin heads playing music before dusk. Cute, aren't they? LOL

A view of Tivoli before night falls. In front of the palace light building lies a beautiful fountain.

Does this remind you of Taj Mahal? Or a mosque? Do not be deceived. It's actually a building with hotel and restaurants in Tivoli, Copenhagen.

Strolling along a street of souvenir shops.

A view of Tivoli at night. My sis said it looks like some Chinese place. LOL. Sorry about the bad quality of photo. My colleague has better shots of Tivoli. Have yet to get all the photos taken with her camera. Shall upload them once I have them ;-)

Now, Tivoli anyone?
