Sunny Boxing Day 2009!

I was awoke to a beautiful, sunny Saturday morning! It's the Boxing Day. Wee! No plans though. Malls and supermarkets will only open tomorrow. So, I shall go out to do some shopping then.

Here I am, lazing around listening to Alarice's music (had introduced her during my previous post). Since I had lent my camera to my colleague who is now in Jutland, I took out my camera phone and tried to get some shots of the sunny day. I later discovered that I still have some photos in the phone which I had yet to publish or blog about! Perfect timing. Shall do that right away...

Thanks to my deteriorated memory, I could not remember when was this but it was a couple of weeks before taking off to Copenhagen.

痞子英雄 . Black and White

I am currently hooked to this Taiwanese drama serial. Black and White is unlike other Taiwanese drama series. The story line moves in a faster pace and I like the action. One could say it's an idol drama since the actors/actresses are rather young - Vic Zhou (周渝民/ 仔仔), Mark Zhao (趙又廷), Nina Chang (張鈞甯) and Ivy Chen (陳意涵) but this is of a higher notch, in my opinion.

Vic Zhou seems to have improved in terms of acting and the newbie Mark Zhao is rather good in portraying his role.
At times, the drama reminds me of the infamous "Infernal Affairs" since the story revolves around cops, triads and baddies. Hence, the title Black and White.

I will not give away any details. Shall leave it to you to unfold the story. Definitely worth seeing ;) All right, I shall resume to follow the next episode =p
P/S: The poster is cool, eh?

对人家好等于对自己残忍?

Parents and teacher taught us to be kind to others since young. No doubt, it's a virtue and it makes you happy that others benefit from your kindness towards them.

At times, however, I wonder how true is the saying "Being kind to others results in being cruel to oneself" [对人家好等于对自己残忍]. There were a few occasions that I was exactly in this position. Perhaps, I was being too nice foolish to think that I should help as I felt sorry or responsible towards others when the truth is my help is a nice to have and not an obligation at all. So, in a way, I am at fault for putting myself in a less favourable position.

Anyway, I will continue to help people but I need to be careful not to end up having myself upset instead. Otherwise, I will be the biggest fool! :p Haha.

Merry Holy Christmas 2009!

It was just snowing last week and this week but it stopped right on Christmas Eve and Christmas day! Haha. It's rainy instead on Christmas.
Anyway, wishing everyone a happy Merry Christmas! =)

White Christmas

A couple of days ago, some people said this year was not as cold as the previous years on the same month. After that, the weather turned colder and eventually snowed! This is my first experience with snow and having a White Christmas!

It's one of my dreams to be able to experience White Christmas and thank God my dream came true! Wish that my sister was here as well. It's going to be a quiet Christmas, though as everyone will be out of town or will be back home for Christmas and every single shop will be closed for four days at the very least.

Anyway, I am sure I will be occupied. Just went out with my colleague the whole day to do some shopping. I was tempted to buy a few household items and it turned out I didn't buy any at all! I only bought groceries in preparation for the long holidays :p

Shopping spree at Malmo, Sweden

This is a very outdated post. Gee, laziness is overwhelming. The post has been in my draft for weeks!

If not mistaken, it was 2 weeks ago that my colleagues and I decided to go to Malmo for shopping. It was rather fruitful for all of us! I bought a pair of sport shoes at half the original price, some accessories and my two other colleagues also bought a pair of shoes each and some other things too!

Apart from shopping, we also took some pictures. It was rather cold in Malmo.

A tourist spot that should not be missed when visiting Malmo is the Turning Torso Building. The architecture of the building is unique as it turns at an angle of 180 degrees. We could not enter the building as it's a commercial building and we are not authorized to enter. So, we took photos from outside.
It also has a gallery right beside the building.
After photo taking, we took the city bus to the walking street. It looked like a mini Copenhagen there, except that things are cheaper! That's certainly excellent ;)
Some pictures around the town.
Cute coffee stall and the mini truck! All in red!
The frog prince? It was being left outdoor while its owner went into one of the shops in the walking street. My colleague and I took turn to pose next to the dog (the picture is in my colleague's camera. It was obvious I was afraid of it @_@). It looked tame but I was still being cautious in case it was agitated by our photo taking spree. Gosh, when I first saw it, I was like "Wolf"! Haha.
The Scandinavians love dogs! All the dogs I saw that day were huge. These 2 dogs were really playful.

There's Ferris Wheel in Malmo too! We decided not to take a ride because it was rather windy that night.

Baking class on a beautiful Sunday 29th Nov 2009

Time was spent well for the last two weekends. On the last Sunday of November, my colleague and I went to a friend's place and she cooked a feast for us! Thanks, Lyn for the great hospitality! Not only she cooked for us, she also taught us how to make Tiramisu and muffins. Lovely. The whole Sunday was spent in her house and it was very enjoyable =)

Being an Asian, spicy food is always the favourite. Lyn cooked laksa with prawns, bean sprouts (tauge). The prawns were fresh and springy, which showed they were carefully cooked - so that they would not be under-cooked nor overcooked. Perfect!

Then there was stir fried bean sprouts with bacon and omelet with preserved vegetables. It was a very scrumptious meal. We were stuffed by the end of lunch.
Laksa with prawns and tauge.
Muffins with lots of nuts (almond and walnut) and blueberries! 100% home made =D
I did not take photos of the Tiramisu as were busy helping ourselves to it during tea time. I helped to prepare about 75% of the Tiramisu (felt proud hehe). Thanks to Lyn, once again for the delicious meal and the baking class!
