My masterpiece...

Phew, I finally completed my mission! Instead of cooking Mapo Kimchi Tofu, I changed my plan. Tofu secretes liquid/water over time. Hence, the dish would have been very watery after keeping it overnight.

Still holding to my plan to use Kimchi as one of the ingredients, I decided to make omelets with Kimchi. Since my mom would not be around tomorrow to cook dinner, I prepared for tomorrow's dinner as well so that we don't have to cook after work.

Macorini with Kimchi and sausage. Shall serve with chilled Kimchi and fresh lettuce tomorrow so that the dish would look more interesting and colourful!
Omelets with Kimchi
Look good, eh? =p

Kimchi!

There I was in Jusco, looking for Kimchi in preparation for tomorrow's potluck. It's imported from Korea. I tasted some and it's delicious! The spiciness is just right. Perhaps to those we love spicy food, it may not excite your tastebud.

Sunny Caesar Salad

After a scrumptious lunch, I decided to go light for dinner. I ordered a Caesar Salad from Room Service and it came with a cute sunflower!

It brightened my tray and my room. I placed the perky yellowish species on my dressing table and it was still very much alive on the day I departed. Bye cutie Sunny! Till we meet again ;)

Egg Tofu, Sanur's Specialty

In my recent trip to Singapore, my colleague and I decided to try Indonesian cuisine. The menu had so may choices which indeed tempted us to order almost more than we could finish. Anyway, we are down-to-earth lots and we(painfully) chose four.

Among the four, egg tofu was the one that attracted our attention the most. It's also Sanur's (the name of the restaurant) specialty. Alas, it didn't turn out as great as we anticipated. I initially thought the portion would be like the other dishes, regular - not too generous. Boy, was I wrong. It looked like a volcano! LOL.

The part which looked darker than the others were dripped with a special sauce. I personally find it too sweet and it winded down my appetite. Had we never ordered rice, I could perhaps take another serving of the huge volcano. Hehe. As the name suggested, the dish was made up of eggs and tofu. The outer layer was fluffy and crunchy, while on the inner, there's a mixture of tofu and eggs. The texture of the eggs was similar to steam eggs. It's slightly disappointing because it wasn't as tasty as I thought it would.

Nevertheless, we enjoyed our meal very much. Lesson learnt, no more egg tofu in the next visit although I am a huge fan of tofu, if there's next time ;)

Potluck gathering!

After the last potluck, my colleagues decided to have another one. Larger and more happening! Hehe. I have been browsing through the net to search for recipes. The main dishes (chicken and vegetables), soup and dessert are well taken care of. Gee, this is really testing my creativity.

Voila, I finally found what I can cook! Mapo tofu with a slight twist. Instead of the normal spicy paste, I will cook it with kimchi. That would then taste like Sundubu Jigae (well, if it turned out good. LOL) Guinea pigs, wait till Monday ya! Mommy will feed you well with my new recipe ;)

Oh, most importantly, we must remember to take photos of our splendid masterpieces on Monday!

Saying thank you

I was browsing through a selection of "Thank you" cards with my sister's colleagues and found some really interesting ones. We took a while to decide on two of the many we came across. Selecting cards for people can be fun! ;)
In a busy world, we sometimes forget there are still nice people doing nice things. Thank you for being such a wonderful reminder
Taking this opportunity to thank all who have been nice and kind to me. It makes all the difference and I truly appreciate that *hugs*

Battling against temptation

It's this time of the year again when everyone flocked the malls. Sales is every where and the bargain is good, mind you. Alas, I am not earning Singapore dollars. Otherwise, I would have bagged a few items by now already.

MANGO in Wisma Atrium, Orchard Road (Singapore) is having some really good stuffs and it's cheap - well, to Singaporeans. I find it cheap and reasonable at first glance, before doing the conversion. I have always been able to resist succumbing to the temptation of sales and my record maintains this time. Kudos! =)

Anyway, it's more entertaining to see Japanese dramas right now since I know I will not get any of those pretty things on the shelf. Perhaps, will make up to my "good behaviour" in Bangkok next month ;p

Okies, back to otaku-ing.

Sayonara.

Waiting to be picked up...

Here I am, sitting in front of the laptop at my workstation, waiting for my sister to pick me up from work. She still has some things to do. Gosh, I am starving and I want my dinner! Distracted, I started to look at my contact list to see who's still online (still at work). Cher!

Here's our conversation.

Me : Why are you still around this late?
Cher : My departmental meeting is cancelled but my husband was just being called for a meeting.
Me : Haha
Cher : I am starving!
Me : Gee, we are on the same boat.

Never had I imagined that I found a companion sharing the same fate right now! LOL
Just as we were complaining to each other how hungry we were, Cher sent me a picture.... of FOOD! Arghh......This is so cruel.

Da Sa Rang @ SS15 Subang Jaya

Ahn-Yong Hasehyo! We were greeted by the waiters as soon as we entered the quaint restaurant located in SS15 Subang Jaya (opposite Inti College Subang campus). Owned and operated by Korean, Da Sa Rang serves authentic Korean food and I like its ambience. It's clean and there wasn't any foul smell emitted from the kitchen.

I like the decorations in Da Sa Rang. Simple and sweet.
Looks fake but it's a living lotus flower. Lovely, isn't it?
Coins and Korean Won notes. Don't mistaken it as a wishing well.LOL. It is only a display.
Raw squid salad
Korean snacks. How colourful. Look delicious, aren't they?
Stewed chicken with rice (Dak Bulgogi Duki MYR18). The chicken was tender and succulent. I must say the chef was very generous with the food portion. This dish was served with Korean rice grain.
Mom ordered seafood noodle (Kal Guksu MYR 18). It's known as Korean's Fettucini and the noodles were handmade. The soup was clear and rich with iodin from the fresh seafood.
Korean rice cakes! I had a sudden crave for this Korean snack Teokbokki (MYR 25) and I didn't hesitate to order one right away. I love the springy and smooth texture of the dough. Yummy!
I am a fan of Tofu. Simply love its tenderness. Served with seafood (claims, squid, prawns) and vegetables, Sundubu Jigae (MYR 15) is a definite must-try if you are a tofu lover like me. The spicyness of the stew did not overwhelm the fragance of the soy bean. Excellent to go with the Korean rice. (Yeah, this dish comes with rice).
The meal finished off with a complementary dessert (Barley drink and watermelon) from Da Sa Rang. Surprisingly, the bill came up to MYR 88, which I find it rather reasonable as the food portion was generous, the ingredients were fresh and the service was good. We were completely stuffed by the time we left. I could barely walk straight. LOL.

Absolute Boyfriend @ Zettai Kareshi

He is well-built.
He is strong.
He is protective of you.
He cooks.
He does the laundry.
He picks you up from work.
He flashes his charming smile whenever your eyes meet his.
He never fails to say "Aisyiteru".
He is Night Tenjo!

Who? He is the absolute boyfriend! Isn't he adorable? Alas, he's only a robot. Not human.

Originated from a manga, Absolute Boyfriend a.k.a Zettai Kareshi is definitely heart-warming and hilarious. If Night is for real, that seems perfect ;)

Anyway, was wondering if anyone would ever purchase a robotic boyfriend. He's immortal, he's programmed to your liking, he's devoted to you, he's loyal, he's strong and he can be as good looking as you want. How about that?

Night-kun, anyone? LOL

P/S: If you are interested, you may follow the drama here.

**Update : I just finished the drama last night. The ending is so touching! Gee, I was laughing and crying in front of the laptop. A definite must-watch! ;)

QuizzyLand

I don't know what strikes me. I have been Facebook-ing a lot of late. Doing quiz after quiz and even created one of my own! Previously, I didn't even bother logging on until I had a friend request notification in my mailbox. Things changed. Maybe I am becoming more otaku than I had anticipated =p

Perhaps the disease had also caught others. I notice that my friends around me are also getting addicted to Facebook. Be it drawn to the quizzes or huge selection of game applications offered. This is an important source of entertainment in the new age, I suppose.

Okies, let me continue to see who's evil and what type of dessert are my friends =p

Ciao..

A Day Out with 白

and I had thought of numerous places to meet up yesterday. We finally ended up in 1U. LOL. It's been a long time since I last went to that huge shopping mall. Directionless, I always found myself lost in that mall =p
It's amazing how long we sat at MyNews.com cafe and chatted. She never fails to inflict self-reflection each time we have a long and earnest chat. I suppose it's time to begin a new chapter in my life. It's quite a "project", I must say. But if it's not now, when? The clock is ticking....

Made The Move

I finally did the two things I have wanted to do in a week. Bravo! Firstly, I went for a swim (Ok, not exactly swim =p). Had always wanted to learn swimming. Looking forward to another swim, mmmm I mean lesson. Thanks to my sister's boss. She's kind enough to invite us to her apartment and taught us how to swim.

Secondly, reacting to my sudden craze for vacation, I just booked 2 tickets (one for my sis and one for myself) to Bali next month!! I am so excited. Although I just had a vacation about a month ago, I haven't had enough. Gosh, my hunger for vacation is insatiable now. Luckily Bali is rather affordable. Else, would have burnt a hole in my pocket.

The next agenda in my to-do list would be to see Terminator Salvation! And of course, planning my next vacation ;)

Surprise Surprise

I was surprised by an apology extended by a person I least expected today. How wrong I was to think he was mean and unfriendly. He's quite on the contrary in person. There's some humour in him. Well, maybe I am making judgement a little too early now. Let's see.
