Cutie Chipmunks

I almost passed out in front of my laptop yesterday and it was only 2 or 3 PM Charlotte time. My eyelids were so heavy. I suppose I have yet to recover from jet lag. As soon as I reached my hotel room yesterday evening, I layed on the couch and dozed off.

After ordering room service, I stayed at bed and watch TV. They have lots of channels here, which delighted me. (Oops, I do not subscribe to Astro back home. So, that explains why ;p) Alvin and the Chipmunks (the movie) was shown on one of the channels and I had a great time laughing to myself.

Ran a quick search in you tube and found this video.

Believe me, the chipmunks are so much cuter in the movie and oh, you would definitely be entertained when you see the chipmunks made the hip hop dance moves!

Okie, found another two videos which are a short clips from the movie. Here you go:

Cute, eh? LOL

Gosh, I am loving them.

Greetings from Charlotte, NC

Woohoo....Feels great to set foot at my blog again =D I have not posted any entries lately. Lazy me. Nah, was busy with work.

After a day and half flight from KLIA, I had finally landed at Charlotte yesterday (Sunday, about 6.50AM Malaysian time and 5pm Charlotte time). It was a long and tiring flight, somewhat reminded me of my previous experience of "never ending journey" when I was trapped in a train from KL to Singapore.

Nevertheless, managed to get out from the Changi Airport (at Singapore when in transit there) to chill out. It was a Friday night and it's party night! People were all over Robertson Walk and Clarke Quay. My colleague and I went to a Cuban bar at Clarke Quay. Having almost zero knowledge about alcohols, I ordered myself a Margarita, thinking that it was some fruits blend as the drink was categorized under "Blend Pleasure" and its description mentioned the drink as a mixture of strawberries, longan and other fruits o_0 It was ok. Upon drinking the entire glass, my face felt burning hot and my heart pumped very fast. I didn't know if my face was red or not as I didn't had a mirror to check out.

Coupled with lack of sleep and the after-effect of alcohol, it's not a pleasant sensation. While having supper with my colleague and her friend, I felt lousy. My eyes were half closed and I felt butterflies in my stomach.

I feel better now though I didn't sleep entirely well. It's chilly and windy here. Glad that I woke up to a sunny day this morning =D

All right, got to run now. Shall have breakfast with my colleague shortly. Have a nice day.

Confronting my weakness

Tomorrow shall be the day I challenge my weakness. Though it's not my first time, I still feel nervous at the thought of presenting and training a crowd. Fortunately, there will only be 6 audiences. Phew.

My biggest weakness is speaking my mind. I don't have a problem expressing and explaining myself in writing but not the case when comes to doing it verbally. I will stammer and my tongue somehow would not co-operate with how I want to say a word causing words to stuck in my mouth or my tongue. At times, I would be in lost of words. In my opinion, I am not a good teacher. I may know things but putting it out might be a whole different story all together.

Anyway, I believe practice makes perfect and I know the biggest challenge is myself. I need to be confident to say what is on my mind and what I know. Enough said. Time to taken action. I hope one day I could wave goodbye to myself who stammers and lack in confidence when in a crowd.

Ganbatte des!

My 24th Birthday

My birthday this year was a special one. It's the first time I was away from home and not sharing the day with my sister. Apart from that, I celebrated twice - one Malaysian time and another on Copenhagen time. How lucky. LOL. Thanks to all for the birthday wishes. I was very touched and happy to have received your text messages, especially when I was away from home and to know that I was being remembered =D

When I returned to office, a quaintly wrapped gift was found on my desk. Upon looking at the creative handwriting on the card, I immediately recognised it's 白's. Thank you for the lovely present from Moxx!

Dinner at Fig & Olive

It's been a while since my colleagues and I had a massive group dinner. Glad that I was invited to join my former team mates yesterday at Fig & Olive, Sunway Pyramid. Boy, was I loud. I felt myself chattering away and laughed loudly like I have never talked and laughed before. Perhaps, I have not really talked and joked with them for a long time. We also camwhored at the balcony (it so happened the restaurant is located next to the balcony overlooking the beautiful scenery of Sunway Lagoon) and had a couple of group shots.

I find it amazing that how I could be myself with them. Sometimes, you just clicked with some people. I realised how much I missed their jokes and warmth. Thanks guys for making my day amidst the buzzing Friday.

Enough of the emo, let's talk about the food. On a personal note, the food fair slightly above average. I enjoyed the BBQ Chicken Pasta I ordered. The pasta (spaghetti) was well cooked - not overly cooked nor undercooked, exactly the way I like ;p Coming to the chicken, the chef opted chicken thigh (a.k.a. drumstick but without the bone) instead of chicken breast to go along with BBQ sauce. Brilliant choice and I must compliment him for not overcooking the chicken. It's still tender. Good job.

Unfortunately, Ming's steak did not share the same credit. It's overcooked and it's as elastic (or should I say hard) as rubber. LOL. No luck, Ming. But hey, you had 2 potatoes eh? LOL.

The Dory Pasta should be given credit as well. I like the salad which was served with the Pasta. Thanks Cher for having me to take all your salad ;p It's a good news that you didn't like the sour taste of the salad dressing. Hehe. Evil me.

Yan ordered Chicken Mushroom Pasta. Creamy and relatively large in portion, the mushroom sauce was smooth but it would be better if the chef could be more generous with the sauce. The chicken which went with the pasta tasted good as well. If not mistaken, the shredded chicken meat was grilled before it's tossed into the creamy mushroom sauce. Lovely.

All of us went for the set meal (it comes with a drink, soup of the day and fruits) as it's more economic. I almost ordered the seafood pasta as it looked simply irresistable and delicious, oblivious about which were offered as set meal and which otherwise. You would be surprise that a seafood pasta costs MYR65.50! As for the set meal, I was told it costs about MYR40 - MYR45 after the extra charges (tax and service charge).

Photos shall follow after retrieving them from my colleagues.

Have a great weekend ahead! =D

Expired and Outdated

Is the time passing by very quickly or is it just me? I feel I have let many things passed me by and I am still not sure what are they. Everything around me seems blur. I am not keeping myself updated with the current news (not that I am an avid reader of news. I usually scan through and skip to the entertainment section =p). Oh, but I do know Obama won. Ok, it's because my colleagues were discussing about it.

Yay, I just collected my Visa at Wisma MCA today. The U.S. Embassy is rather efficient. It didn't take me long to go through the interview process and to collect the Visa but the time taken to travel is significantly long, as expected.

Ah, it's a consolation that tomorrow is Friday! I am looking forward to weekend, mainly because I can indulge in my favourite TV shows. I seriously miss them and I can't really remember the show times anymore. The best thing I found out last week is that Hana Kimi is now showing at 8TV every Sunday 3pm! (1st Episode last week) Hurray! Yeah, I like the character Nakatsu =p
