Today marks the first day of October 2009. This is the third week I am back at home after 2 months away. The relocation service just came to pack my belongings this morning. It took them only half an hour to pack all my things into 3 boxes. I didn't bring a lot of things with me.
I feel extremely exhausted today. Will take a nap later.
It's the first time I cooked for lunch after 2 months. Not too bad, thanks to the Tom Yam paste! Well, I am a "safe chef". Always for for pasta - Tom Yam pasta! My sis said "Not bad". Hehe. If only I added some sugar, it would have been better. It's a little on the sour side right now but I like it =p

The Laughter
It has been months since I had a mind block. I just didn't know what to blog and it was as though I had lost my creativity (ahem, not that I am a very creative person after all =p). Lately, I had a sudden urge to write a short fiction. This is something I had not done for years. I still remember I used to write on the remaining pages of my school exercise books (Talking about recycling, this is the way, eh! LOL). Well, I have not written a single word yet despite there's this little voice at the back of my mind, beckoning me to unleash my creativity. Perhaps I will do that during winter, when it's too miserable to go out in the cold.
This evening was well spent with my colleagues. I missed the hearty laughter we used to share and the timing to catch up was just perfect! It took my mind off from work for a couple of hours.

Co Do @ Mid Valley
It's mum's birthday yesterday. So, my sis and I treated her to lunch at Co Do Mid Valley after reading some good reviews on this Vietnamese Restaurant on the internet. Thanks to food bloggers!
Co Do is located near Little Vietnam (same level as GSC cinema) and you will need to climb 2 flight of stairs to reach the tastefully decorated restaurant. On the right of the first flight of stairs, you will be greeted by some traditional like ornaments.

From the top: Rice paper roll (MYR5.80 - It's filled with mushrooms and minced meat. It reminds me of Chee Cheong Fun), Imperial platter (MYR26 - From left, counter clock-wise : Dragin fruit salad, Shrimp roll, Vietnamese Siew Mai, Shrimp stick, Lychee PrawnBall), Lotus Pancake.
I simply like the interior design of Co Do. It's cosy and comfortable. The Vietnamese Dim Sum is delicious but I find it rather pricy. Each dish of dim sum costs a minimum of MYR 5.80 and it could go up to MYR 9.80.
You must have noticed that there are no pictures of main dishes. Hehe. I forgotten to take them as everyone was busy helping themselves with the food =p

Co Do is worth dining in. The atmosphere and the food is good.

Toldbod Bodega @ Esplanaden
Thanks to Pat for introducing me to a Danish restaurant (Toldbold Bodega)during my stay in Copenhagen 2 months ago. I have another alternative when coming to dining out next time ;)
It's a rather small restaurant but quaintly designed. Toldbold Bodega had just been renovated during summer. There was a huge crowd when Pat and I arrived there for lunch. That simply proved that the food is good!

Japanese Street @ Lion City
Those around me know that I long to go to Japan since ages ago. Alas, the day to fly to that dream destination has not come yet. I am still in the midst of saving up to get there!
Anyway, I had a golden opportunity to take a stroll down the Japanese street in a shopping mall at the Boon Lay MRT station in Singapore during my last visit. If my memory serves me correctly, the shopping mail is known as Jurong Point. Hop off at the Boon Lay MRT station and turn right after descending from the staircase or escalator. You will not get it wrong ;)
The street was not that long or maybe I was hoping for more. You could find Japanese restaurants and eateries along on both sides of the street. As you can see from the pictures, the street was crowded. Although it's not THE real Japanese street, it helps to satiate my craze over Japan =p

Till We Meet Again Lion City!
It's strange that how much I have accustomed myself to a foreign land so much so that I am beginning to miss it before leaving the land. Perhaps it is the people that are left behind? The happy memories that were formed of that land? Anyway, goodbye for now. Rest assured I will be back! Adios =D

The PumpRoom @ Clarke Quay
This is an outdated post. It was the night when my girl friends and my sister hung out at a happening bistro in Clarke Quay - The PumpRoom.
Apart from great music from the live band, it serves good food. Perfect for an all-girls-Saturday-night gathering.

My sister ordered "Chargrilled Spring Chicken Piri Piri on Roasted
Rosemary Potatoes and Fine French Beans" (Phew what a long name. All the dishes in the menu has super long names)
As though striken by chicken fever, I ordered another dish of chicken too - "Pan-Fried Chicken Picatta with Tomato Fondue, Risoni Pasta and Wild Rocket" (Phew,..there you go again ;p)

Dessert time, babe! This is interesting - "Soft Centred Pavlova with Summer Berry
and Passionfruit Curd". The outer Pavlova is hard and I find it too sweet.

You don't have to pay entrance fee before 11pm and the menu can be found here. The finger food is yummylicious too ;)

The Hand Burger @ Raffles City Singapore
We have always tasted burgers from fast food chains and from time to time we yearn for something less commercialise and something not produced massively, which will only ripped off specialty.
The Pulled Pork Burger ordered by my colleague. It seems as though the food is served or presented on a chopping board. LOL.I ordered The Tandoor Chicken Burger. The bread is soft and fragant. Simply loving it. All burgers served with fries or stuffed tomatoes with coleslaw (which ever you prefer).
Upon our lucky stars, my colleague and I found a quaintly designed fast-food-like restaurant in Raffles City - The Hand Burger. Apparently, the burgers, sauce, drinks and desserts are made by their very own staffs and not produced in huge factories like McD or KFC.
The waiter and waitresses are pleasant and friendly. I would recommend The Hand Burger to those who like to hang out and have some "healthy" burgers. They serve vegetarian burger but there's only one option. The food portion is decent and it tastes good.
Even the menu is creatively designed.
The interior design of the kitchen is rather interesting. When my colleague and I walked into the restaurant, we felt like walking into Ikea! =D Lemonade Mint. It's rather sour for those who isn't a huge fan of sour drinks. I find it refreshing. The Pulled Pork Burger ordered by my colleague. Back to the oldies
It's been a crazy week. I was worn out. So are my colleagues. My colleague invited me to sleep over at her service apartment for the weekend. Glad that I did.
We did spend a great time listening to good songs from the 90.5FM and also catching Heroes from the TV. The whole unwinding process was perfect. Wish I could turn back time or pause that period for ever. Ah, if only I have the super natural power ;)
I am suddenly addicted to Rick Price's Heaven Knows. It's one of the songs I heard at my colleague's place. It's calming and soothing.
