Without A Reason 無緣

Being afraid without a reason..
Being upset without a reason..
Being annoying without a reason..
Being difficult without a reason..
Being incomprehensible without a reason..
Being the fool without a reason..

Although everything happens for a reason but sometimes, it's hard to know what the reason really is behind certain things.

Perhaps it is not clear now but it will later. Perhaps the time of revelation has yet to come. Anyway, there's time for everything, isn't it?

P/S: Thanks to the above song, I managed to produce a post after having a mind block for a week =)

Greetings from Sunny Copenhagen

Upon touching down at Copenhagen airport, I was greeted by the sun and welcomed by the breeze here. It still feels like spring although it's summer.

Argh...I can't check in now. It's still too early. Luckily there's Internet access here (free!).

Gifts from 白

Thanks for the book and the masks. I would definitely need them =) How thoughtful of you. I am impressed that you never cease to bring surprises to people around you. As I was unwrapping the gifts, I had been guessing what could be behind the wrapper. Alas, I didn't get it right. That's the thrill and excitement enjoyed when unwrapping gifts ;)

Cheers to our....

Cheers to our friendship...
Cheers to our future undertakings...
Cheers to our new adventure...

Nay, we shall be flying off tonight to different places to begin our adventure that perhaps may lead us to separate paths or perhaps, we would be heading towards the same path after all. Who knows? Would like to wish you all the best and I am all ears if you need someone to talk to. The time difference is not too vast. I believe we can cope with that ;) Take care and do remember our little plan to have a vacation together!

Red envelope from Nay :) What could be inside? Mmmm.. "angpau"?! Too early for Chinese New Year eh?

Whoa! How creative of Nay! She turned the photos we took together into a card. Thanks Nay! =) I am bringing it with me to Copenhagen. It's safely kept in my luggage now.

The Gift...

Thanks Cher for the lovely gift. I love it! It will keep me warm during winter :) Very thoughtful of you! *Hugs*

The Night

It's THE night I am waiting for. Dinner with my lovely colleagues. It's my last dinner with them prior to flying off. As expected, the night was filled with jokes, laughter, cam whoring, and of course good food. Perfect!

When the time comes for speech giving, I was dumbfounded. Giving speech is never my strength. Worse if I am doing it in front of a camera. I only managed to utter a few words. Well, here is my actual "speech":

First of all, thank you very much for throwing me a farewell dinner! I had a great time. Although I appeared stoned, demure, and quiet, I was listening to every single word spoken and enjoying every second of it.I will truly miss each and everyone of you. I might find lunch companions there but they would never be the same as all of you. You are irreplaceable!

I am blessed and glad that our paths crossed. Otherwise, I would have missed such wonderful group of people. That would be shameful. Thank you for allowing me be part of the GLAMOROUS Lunch Club.Lunch time is the perkiest moment of the day.Short yet sweet. I appreciate the friendship and the bond that had grown between us. Genuine and precious. It would not have been that fun without you all.

Don't worry, I will take care of myself. Time to learn the meaning of independence, I suppose.

Michelle, I am sure I will be thinking of you each day I go to work. No more free rides and companion throughout the journey to work.

Ming & Yan, I seriously will miss your jokes! No other joke-tellers could do better than you :)

Cher, eat more! Hope to see you put on a little more weight next time. Prepare some recipes for the next potluck eh. Slurpppp.

Sheng & Chan, I actually enjoy the comments you wrote on Facebook. Keep them flowing. Aw,....I thought I could proudly tell my friends that "Jacky Cheung" can always be seen in my office and ask if they would like autograph. Guess that have to wait ;)

Lai, we shall consider to have you as camera man in our next outing so that Ming could retire =p Ming, you don't mind, do you? Hahahaha.Just kidding.

Till we meet again, I shall learn to cook a few more dishes for our next potluck! =)

Counting Down....

Probably it's time to announce what the bad and good news is, which I brought up in my previous post. I am being offered an expat position in Copenhagen and I have recently accepted the offer. It's about 3 days before I shall board a plan to the foreign land. Anyway, I will be back to Singapore in 3 weeks time.

I suddenly felt like I haven't enough time. My newly bought luggage is resting peacefully in my room, untouched. My loads from the luggage which I brought to Bangkok are still waiting patiently for me to transfer them into the new "home". Gee, just not in the mood to pack. I am lazy! Luckily I did my laundry before coming back =p

Thanks to my thoughtful colleagues for the dinners. I am touched! Till we see again, take care :)

Thailand : Bangkok City Tour with Nay, 11th July 2009

I am back! Finally! It did feel a little weird sleeping on my own bed and walking around my own house after staying in the hotel for 2 weeks. I was adjusting to the surroundings for a day.
It was a mixture of feeling - happy and sad when I was browsing the photos taken in Bangkok. There aren't a lot. I only took photos of the tourist spots I went with Nay (thanks so much for bringing me around despite under the scotching hot sun!). I am truly glad that we spent quality time together and yet am wondering when we will have another outing together since we will be oceans apart. *sob sob*
Well, I better not dwell in this for too long. Let's look at the photos. Gee, Nay, you are so pretty! You turned heads at the Suan Lum night bazaar. Seriously. I saw a number of guys checking you out!LOL

The big sleeping buddha.

Golden Pagoda. There were so many around us!

Bibi

I have been listening to a song at MTV Channel in Bangkok and have been curious who's the singer and the song title. I finally stumbled upon the video in Youtube. Excellent ;)

Chilling Out In My Room

I decided to be good - stay in the room and do laundry. I woke up to an envelope of serenity this morning at 10.30AM Bangkok local time. Gee, 2 nights of staying up late is taking a toll on me. I went out with my colleagues on Friday night and stayed on at Khao San till about 12AM++. Initially, I had second thoughts about joining as I was tired and I am not a drinking person. Later, the little voice in myself said "Come on, it's good time to network with people. You can't be an otaku forever, eh?" So, there I was, strolling along the happening streets with Khao San. By the time I was back in the hotel, my eyes could barely open.

The excitement of having a city tour with Nay awaited me the next morning.
It was very sweet of Nay to brought me around yesterday despite the hot weather! We were practically "well-done" under the extreme heat emit by the mighty sun. We went to temples, pagoda, a boat ride and a visit to a shopping place (Gee, pardon me for my forgetfulness. I could not recall that place. It reminded me of night markets in Taiwan).

It was funny that both Nay and I are afraid of height and we had to climb up the stairs to the pagoda. We looked like little kids, trying to climb up tall places. Well, we were not alone. A number of tourists were uttering the same fear as they moved up =D

After that, I joined her friends for a bowling session at Siam Paragon (Nay's friends were having a farewell gathering for her). It wasn't my night, I suppose. The score was not that impressive. Later, we went to a bar and we stayed on till about more than 1AM. By the time I got to bed, it was about 2AM.

As for the pictures, I shall only upload them when I go back to home sweet home. All right, got to get moving. Having dinner with my colleague in 5 minutes.

An Eventful Day

Work wise and personal wise, it's been a busy busy day. Perhaps that's good news. Things get going and accomplished. On a personal note, I finally made it to the gym and though did not stay for long, I did get my heart pump blood into my blood vessels quicker than usual. It was beating so fast that I thought it would jump off from my throat! LOL.

There's a good news and bad news for me. I am not ready to announce it yet but it did give my mind a little workout for the past couple of days. No, not getting married or any of that sort. That's out of the question, at least for the near future.

Gosh, I am so tired now. I better retire to bed early. There're more things in store for us tomorrow, I believe. Missing home and the people back there. All right, I need to prepare myself for bed. Sleep well, all :)

Mini K-session in Fraser Suite

The wind is brushing against my cheeks as I made my way back from the office to my hotel room. It's the rainy season in Bangkok. The rain cast a lazy spell on me. I just wanted to stay in my room watching the rain droplets running down the glass on the window, chatting with my sister and listening to soothing music.

Before I knew it, a mini karaoke session was inspired. I was singing to the songs in front of my laptop. Gee, not a bad way to spend a rainy evening ;) Haha, how I have mastered the art of self-entertaining. Yeah, babe!

Must have gone out of my mind by now hahaha..Music toxic! =p

Twenty Two Again...

I am listening to my idol's songs - David Tao. Thanks to my dear sis, I am enjoying the videos she recommended from laptop. Something stirred my thoughts today. So, I was grateful to have great songs to distract me a while.

How nice if everyone is twenty two again, eh? With its light and catchy beat, 二十二 makes me feel younger once again. Well, actually I feel that I can relate to this song right now. Oops,...maybe I am a little slow in growing up =p It's about a girl growing up (turning twenty two), having a dream, embracing it and braving through the challenges along the way.

I am yearning for David's concert. Would like to listen to his soothing vocal again. I wonder when will he have his next concert in Malaysia. Till then, I shall have to rely on Youtube! :)

Greetings from Bangkok

I have safely touched down Bangkok at about 12.30PM local time (1.30PM Malaysian Time). Phew, it's my second visit to this shopping paradise. I visit this bustling city about the same time last year. How coincidental. Well, twice because of work ;)

As it was past my usual lunch time, I was starving when I reached the hotel. I am totally impressed with my room! However, there are no tissue boxes in the room! Ok, I better not complain further since the room is great! Photos come later - sorry chaps, I forgotten to bring my data cable.

To begin with, the day didn't start of exactly good. While I was about to take shower, I notice that there's a crack on my luggage. Whoa! I quickly fetched another luggage (my sis's) and transfer my loads into it. Gosh, imagine had I not seen it. It would have cracked open upon arrival and my belongings would be lying around, exposed. What a sight =( So, I count that as a blessing. Secondly, I could not go for a swim due to ahem....aunty's visit.

Lunch was great today, just a little late. Maybe I was hungry *shrug* I have another 45 minutes before hitting the gym with my colleague and then followed by dinner. After that, I would need to read up some stuffs for tomorrow's short presentation. Oh,....I need to iron clothes tonight. How happening.

My sweet sister sent me links of music videos knowing that I am all alone in the room. Thank you! Will check them out tonight :)

All right, back to finish off some things here. Ciao.

Do You Want It or Do You Not?

It's strange that how human's desire can be contradictory at times. At one point, you are longing and dying to have something and yet when you are given that something, you hesitate if you really want that after all.

Perhaps, there wasn't any reason behind the strong desire. It's merely on impulse? Or because everyone is fighting over it, you joined the crowd. It makes you popular to be part of a group, a social circle or an organisation. People look up to you if you have something that everyone perceives as precious. But can you handle what entails the fame and popularity?

As if not enough of Facebook Quiz...

I was reading Renaye's blog when I read about this mindware (this is the first time I heard of that term). Curious, I began answering question after question to find out how well the mindware "knows" me. Well, I must admit, it does know me.....in a way.

Your Brain Usage Profile:
Auditory : 38%

Visual : 61%
Left : 50%
Right : 50%

** Could it be because I was a left hander, I use both side of my brain equally?

You exhibit an even balance between left- and right- hemisphere dominance and a slight preference for visual over auditory processing. With a score this balanced, it is likely that you would have slightly different results each time you complete this self-assessment quiz.
You are a well-rounded person, distinctly individualistic and artistic, an active and multidimensional learner. At the same time, you are logical and disciplined, can operate well within an organization, and are sensitive towards others without losing objectivity. You are organized and goal-directed. Although a "thinking" individual, you "take in" entire situations readily and can act on intuition.
You sometimes tend to vacillate in your learning styles. Learning might take you longer than someone of equal intellect, but you will tend to be more thorough and retain the material longer than those other individuals. You will alternate between logic and impulse. This vacillation will not normally be intentional or deliberate, so you may experience anxiety in situations where you are not certain which aspect of yourself will be called on.
With a slight preference for visual processing, you tend to be encompassing in your perceptions, process along multidimensional paths and be active in your attacking of situations or learning.
Overall, you should feel content with your life and yourself. You are, perhaps, a little too critical of yourself -- and of others -- while maintaining an "openness" which tempers that tendency. Indecisiveness is a problem and your creativity may not be in keeping with your potential. Being a pragmatist, you downplay this aspect of yourself and focus on the more immediate, obvious and the more functional

Flu Flu Flu

My eyes were heavier as I stared at my laptop screen. It can't be that bad, huh? I only slept at about 12AM after seeing the much awaited movie of the year Transformer. How bad a damage that could make? After an hour or so, I started to feel my hearing was impaired. One ear of mine felt like malfunctioning.

After much thought, I concluded it was due to the flu vaccine I took during lunch break, as a precautive measure before flying off to Bangkok for work this Sunday. My colleagues who went for a jab with me also experienced the same. One felt dizzy and as if the world was spinning around her. Phew,.......

It was really funny. My colleague was acting as though she had taken some alcohol and we all looked like being sedated or something. Our boss was nice enough to ask us go home early. Thank you, boss!

Chuka @ Saujana Villa

My sister had been complimenting a Japanese restaurant she visited with her colleagues. Even Japanese goes there to eat. That sounds tempting. So, after work on Tuesday, my sister, my colleague and I went to check it out. Situated amongst villas and apartments, Chuka is indeed quaint and cosy. Right beside the restaurant is a nice looking swimming pool.

There are Japanese comics on the shelf! Cool. My sis ordered Chilled Soba upon my suggestion My colleague ordered Spicy Vegetable Noodle
A tofu lover I am, I went for Mapo Tofu Ramen. All the soup base was rather salty. The portion is rather generous I would say. Price of the food is just like any other Japanese restaurants. Chuka is worth trying.

Newly bought shoes

I have never bought high heels in my life. This time, I bought a pair of heels of 2 inches while on sale. It's only MYR47.50! So far, I have not had a dramatic (or rather traumatic) accident yet *touchwood*. Just that I don't walk as fast as I always did. The best part is, I am 2 inches taller but I felt so much taller hahaha.
